Libra Solar Eclipse 2024: Say Yes

The last eclipse of 2024 is a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra, exact on October 2nd. This is my favorite eclipse of 2024: not only is it a fresh start for relationships of all kinds, there’s an emphasis on emotional healing through communication, with four planets and the South Node in Air signs.

Solar Eclipses represent fresh starts and rapid, forward motion and flurries of activity, information and new developments, while Libra is the sign of negotiations, partnerships and, of course, love.

So, when you put these together, opportunities through relationships is the theme of the six month period following—whether this involves creating new ones or working to heal rifts within existing ones (Jupiter in Gemini sextile Chiron), you’re sure to benefit if you listen to your gut instinct and invest in those who invest in you.

Now, Libra is a highly rational sign of the Zodiac, known for their innate skepticism and obsession with fairness, truth and realism. As a result, they typically find it challenging when it comes to making tough decisions if only because it feels unnatural for them to trust their gut.

Grand Water Trine: Emotional Stability

Fortunately, at this particular Solar Eclipse in Libra, there’s a rare astrological formation called a Grand Trine at work that offsets any tendency to overthink and overanalyze. A Grand Trine is when there’s a connection between planets in each sign of the same element.

In this case, it occurs in the three Water signs, with Saturn in Pisces, Mars in Cancer and Venus in Scorpio all forming a perfect triangle, providing us an unconscious source of emotional strength and certainty, allowing us to capitalize on opportunities we might otherwise procrastinate.

This eclipse is perfect for renewal when it comes to relationships of all kinds, but is especially auspicious both for attracting new partners and renewing existing romantic partnerships. And with Venus and Mars in harmony with Saturn in Pisces, whatever love we find/rediscover now will last. So don’t be afraid to communicate and reach out to others, because for some this eclipse could involve letting go of some deeply-held love life baggage.

But if this is necessary to make room for new love to come? So be it. Maybe you’ve been talking to an ex for far too long and the “friendship” stuff is preventing you from finding something more meaningful. Or maybe you’ve been holding onto anger or resentment (or even fear) from a previous relationship that needs to be released in order for you to truly move forward.

For those already in fulfilling romantic relationships, there’s a lot of potential for major developments in the months following October 2nd, from moving in together to engagements, wedding plans or even getting pregnant if that’s something on the menu for you. You could even end up entertaining new business alliances or money-making offers, if that’s what you’re in the market for.

The possibilities are many, but this is the power of the Grand Water Trine at work: whatever your deepest, most “secret” (read: unconscious) desires are? They’re about to come to the surface now, though maybe not in the ways you planned for or expect.

And despite my instinct to warn you with the caveat that Mars Retrograde in Cancer will begin its slowdown (also known as “pre-shadow”) phase shortly after this eclipse, which typically isn’t the best time for going after what we want, you know what? I’m not gonna do that in this post. Enjoy this burst of energy for connecting with others and moving forward. So don’t overthink it: Just say yes.
